Join us for the Collingwood and Toronto premiere of the most anticipated Canadian surf film of the year.
We are excited to welcome Canadian filmmaker Nate Laverty for the Toronto premiere of 'Transition II'.
Set in the rugged rainforest of the west coast of Vancouver Island, Transition brings the story of professional surfers, Pete Devries and Noah Cohen to life. When introducing a child into Pete’s life changes his priorities, mentorship becomes an important part of fulfilling his goals as a surfer. Noah’s failure to qualify for the Canadian National Surf Team alters his path as his dreams of competing in the 2020 games are now in the past. Instead, his mission to follow the best swells from Mexico to Australia alongside good friends becomes his mission.
A Q&A with the director will follow the premiere. Get your tickets now as space is limited and this event will sell out.

Nate Laverty – Director/Filmmaker
With a long career as a professional filmmaker in snowboarding, Nate took to setting his sights on new backdrops in the surf world. Always searching for the deeper story behind the action, it’s natural that he’s found himself behind the lens for brands like Red Bull, Nike, Toyota and Mazda as he’s developed an ability to mesh strong visuals with emotional connection to the characters.
Noah Cohen – Surfer/Main Character
Born and raised in Tofino, Vancouver Island, Noah found surfing at a young age. Spending his formative years on a boat in the harbor, his connection to the ocean has always run deep. Finding a home on the North American Ripcurl team has afforded him the opportunity to travel the world in search of waves on previous projects such as “The Seawolf” and Taylor Steele’s “Innersection”.
